After the Darkness, Light

Another spectacular Great Slave Lake sunrise, taken a couple of weeks about by husband.  We aren’t sure what time it was, it was definitely too early to fully open our eyes to see the clock!  It’s very much like being on a different planet up here – many things are not what you would expect.  Such vibrant light, the northern lights, (which have been amazing of late, but it may take me a while to be able to take a decent photo of them) and last night we saw an amazing half moon that looked like it was on fire.  Much the color of this sky here.  What is this place, really?  Where are we, exactly?
