The ice road is certainly incredible I think, and also a little scary. How will folks know when it’s time to give it up and drive around? I’d love to see more of that impressive ice castle if that’s possible. Maybe we could meet the iceman and get the full story? Mom

Our friendly government closes the road when the ice thins. Right now heavy trucks can drive on it too, but at some point they shall have to stop. There is a cool sign at the start of the ice road that I’ve been meaning to take a photo of. I did get one today of the snow king so I’ll post that next. The winter festival here this weekend is so exciting! Can’t wait to tell you about it.

The videos are wonderful. You look and sound so comfortable – how cold was it when you made them? It seems like you’re dressed a little more lightly than in the past – with all of that extra light, it may be feeling like spring to you.

A friend has a streaming webcam on Mille Lacs in Minnesota. They’re still well-frozen, too, but it won’t be long before they’ll have to start pulling in the fish houses.

Thanks! It’s sort of weird to see ones self on video. Do I really sound like that? It was warmer, about minus 15 or 20. It is warming up at times. It still gets cold but it no longer lasts for weeks. I’m quite done with those really cold and windy days myself. But they aren’t yet done with me!

Hi Tandi, I just played the videos for mom. We both LOVED hearing your voice. Do you suppose Martin would do a video so we could hear him as well! Myrt and Lynne

    • Tandi says:

Great idea, Lynne. I’ll do that. I was going to take one of him filling up our water tank so I’ll get on that. Lovely to hear from you! XO
